This

I will be glad to provide further details upon request.
Esta
es una lista de entidades o individuos con
los que he tenido problemas en el pasado.
Puedo proveer detalles adicionales a quien los solicite.
The Cuban Philatelic Society of America, Inc.
This Society has earned a place in this blacklist for the following reasons:
*
Failure to respond to requests for clarification of inconsistencies in
Treasurer's
Reports between dues
collected and published membership
lists and between advertising
fees collected and advertisements
published in Society publications
* Failure to respond to requests for updating of archaic and obsolete
Society Bylaws with concommitant failure to follow Society Bylaws
*
Failure to hold democratic elections by imposing unfair and obsolete
residency restrictions on Society Officers and Directors, failing to
solicit candidates for elective positions, failing to publish
candidate qualifications, and overall bending of Society election
Bylaws in favor of Miami-Dade County members.
The cancelled elections of last year and the current equally flawed
attempt at conducting Society elections speak for themselves.
* Failure to consult
all appointed Society Directors on all decisions made by the Society
Board of Directors.
I was a Director of the Society from 1977 to 2006 and was seldom
consulted on Board decisions mostly originating from Miami. Similar
experiences were expressed by the late Arturo Martín de
Nicolás who was Director from 2003 to 2006, and by
Mark
Tyx who has been Director from 2006 to date and who you may contact
directly via e-mail.
* Imposition of arbitrary
censorship on the "Your Opinions" forum of the Society Website
* Expulsion
of a Society member
without cause, without opportunity for presenting a defense,
and
without
following Society Bylaws for due process in expulsion of members
* Failure to publish
meeting
minutes for all official Society meetings--just ask the Society
Secretary for copies of such meetings for the last ten years and you
will see what you get.
More specifically, ask for the minutes of the meeting where I was
expelled from the Society.
* Overall poor operation of the Society as manifested by repeated
complaints received over the years from its members without substantive
corrective actions being taken.
As additional evidence in support of all of the above,
I offer a record of communications with the CPSA that I maintained
during 2005
to 2007.
Additional supporting
documentation will be posted in the following days.
In late 2009 Mr.
Arturo A. Codina became
annoyed at complaints against the Cuban Philatelic Society of America
that I posted in the "Your Opinions" section of the Society's Website
and sent me a series of insulting messages. I will let you judge Mr.
Codina's character by simply reading his messages.
Mr. Codina was recently accepted as
candidate for
Director of the Cuban Philatelic Society of America in
its 2010 elections.
I believe no further comments are necessary.
In 2006 Mr.
Ray E. Edmundson
sold me a lot of
10 Spanish Administration postal cards through eBay. Upon receipt I noted that 6 out
of the 10 postal cards were
either trimmed or were
only one half of double reply cards. The
description of the lot in eBay did not mention any of
these problems, it only
showed images of the cards.
I contacted Mr. Edmundson and told him that I was not satisfied with the lot and offered him a reduced amount for the four sound cards in the lot, which he refused and also refused to take back the lot. I subsequently returned the lot to him via certified mail and when after two or three weeks he had not sent me a refund, I contacted my Visa card and asked them to reverse the charge on the lot, which they did.
This apparently annoyed Mr.
Edmundson and he has been
thereafter offering Cuban
material in eBay for sale appending the phrase NOT FOR CUESTA to the
lot description.
Mr. Edmundson operates in eBay under the user ID sgirten.
Mr. José Luis González sold me a horizontal pair of unused Cuba
Scott #3 stamps through eBay.
Upon receipt I examined the stamps and determined that they were not
unused and returned
them via certified mail with a request for a refund.
Mr.González refused to send me
a refund unless I sent the item to be expertized and the item came back
with a certificate
confirming my opinion that the pair was not unused. He
finally
agreed to send the item
himself for expertization, but again refused to send me a refund until
the opinion was
rendered. I
subsequently contacted my Visa card and asked them to
reverse the charges on the
item, which they did.
Mr. González operates in eBay under the user IDs havana_filler and spic-and-span.
WARNING
Be advised
that the Madrid (Spain) auction house
J.R. SUBASTAS
refused to pay me over US$ 3,000
for lots sold through its auctions.
You are advised
not to do
business
with this firm.
During the GRANADA 92
International Philatelic Exhibition, I gave Mr. Ramirez, owner of J.R.
Subastas, several
lots of antique maps for sale at his auctions. Mr. Ramirez put the
material for sale and
it realized over U.S. $3000 which he failed to pay me. A couple of
years later, during a
trip to Madrid I stopped by his store in Calle Mayor and demanded
payment. He said he
didn’t have the funds to pay me and instead gave me in
compensation several lots of
Spanish revenue paper, from which I was only able to sell a portion,
recovering only a
fraction of the $3000 owed.
ADVERTENCIA
Aviso que la casa de subastas madrileña
J.R. SUBASTAS
rehusó pagarme más de US$ 3000
por cuenta de lotes vendidos a través de sus subastas.
